Parenting Do's:

  • Hold emotionally intelligent tennis discussions with you child

  • Act calm during discussions and while your child is on the court

Parenting Don'ts

  • Allow tennis to dominate your life
  • Exert pressure to win
  • Treat your child differently depending on a win or loss
  • Put your interests ahead of your child
  • Coach your child when it hurts the parent/child relationship
  • Expect results based on the amount of money spent
  • Disregard player development plans and goals
  • Scream for any reason at an event, practice or hitting session
